What we do
Four main services, and one that goes over the top of them
Protection and appearance are two different jobs. Some films do both, and ceramic coating goes over whichever you choose. Here's what each one is actually for, so you're not paying for the wrong one.
Protection
Paint Protection Film
An optically clear urethane film over your factory paint. Absorbs rock chips, resists acids, heals its own swirl marks with heat. Five packages, from a partial front to the Track package and full Stealth matte.
Explore PPF →Protection + color
Color PPF
A full color change that protects at the same time. Twice the thickness of vinyl, self-healing, and it comes off without touching the paint underneath.
Explore Color PPF →Trim
Chrome Delete
Window surrounds, grille, badges, mirror caps and roof rails taken from chrome to gloss, satin or matte black. The fastest change that makes a car look like a different trim level.
Explore chrome delete →Appearance
Vinyl Wraps
Full or partial color change in finishes paint can't do — satin, matte, color-shift, brushed metal, carbon. Reversible, panel-repairable, and far less than a quality respray.

Ceramic Coating
A hard, hydrophobic layer that makes everything easier to wash and keeps gloss up for years. It is not chip protection — it's the finish that goes over the protection.

Tell us the car and how you drive it
A garage-kept weekend car and a 60-mile 101 commute need different answers. Send year, make, model and a few photos — you'll get a straight recommendation, including "you don't need that."

PPF, vinyl and ceramic are not competitors
They solve different problems, and plenty of shops blur the line. Here's the honest version.
| Clear PPF | Color PPF | Vinyl wrap | Ceramic coating | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Clear urethane film | Pigmented urethane film | Cast vinyl film | Liquid coating that cures hard |
| Typical thickness | ~7 mil | ~7 mil | ~3.5 mil | ~2–3 microns |
| Rock chip protection | Yes — this is its job | Yes | Minimal | None |
| Self-healing | Yes, with heat | Yes, with heat | No | No |
| Changes the color | No (gloss or matte finish only) | Yes | Yes — widest finish range | No (deepens gloss) |
| Typical service life | 10 years (manufacturer warranty) | 5–10 years | 3–5 years | 2–5 years |
| Reversible | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes, by polishing |
| Best for | Keeping factory paint perfect | New color that still protects | Looks, texture, branding, budget | Easy washing and gloss, over anything |
Figures are typical industry ranges. Exact thickness, warranty and lifespan depend on the film we quote for your car.
About us
Your vehicle is a canvas. It's also an investment.
Jaded Protective Films is driven by excellence and precision. At our core we're dedicated to quality work with a relentless focus on detail, craftsmanship and creativity.
A car is more than transportation. It's a form of self-expression and an asset worth looking after. Protecting it is a commitment, not a transaction — so we treat every install that way: careful prep, patterns cut for your exact model, edges wrapped where the panel allows, and an honest answer about what you do and don't need.
We work by appointment in San Jose and serve drivers across the South Bay and greater Bay Area.
How it works
Five steps, and most of the quality happens in step three
Film is only as good as the surface under it. Prep is where a clean install separates from a bad one.
-
Tell us about the car
Year, make, model and trim, plus a few photos. Text is fastest. Mention anything already on the car — tint, an old wrap, prior paintwork.
-
Get a written quote
You'll see the exact panels, the film and finish, the price and the turnaround before anything is booked. No surprise add-ons on pickup day.
-
Decontamination and prep
Full wash, chemical decontamination, clay, and a detailed clean of every panel edge, jamb and gap. Any trapped grit here becomes a permanent bump under the film, so it gets the time it needs.
-
Computer-cut and hand-cut installation
Most panels are plotted from patterns cut for your exact model. Where no pattern exists, or where the stock one would leave a line in the wrong place, we hand-cut the film on the car — slower, and the only way to get some panels right. Either way the edges are wrapped around the panel where the design allows, so you see paint and film, not a cut line across the middle of a bumper.
-
Cure, inspect, hand back
The film needs time to fully bond. We inspect under light, walk you through aftercare, and tell you exactly when it's safe to wash it.
Recent work
The best PPF install is the one you can't see
Which makes it hard to photograph. Look at the edges, the gaps and the headlight corners — that's where the work shows.
Add photo — front end, full front PPF
Add photo — chrome delete, window surrounds
Add photo — color change, three-quarter view
Photos go in the /assets/img/ folder — see README.md for how to drop them in.

Let's elevateyour vehicle
Send a few photos and your year, make and model. You'll get a written quote with the exact panels, the film, and the turnaround — no guesswork, no pressure.
